1 Couple Was Never Meant to Happen

Romeo and Juliet were not the only couple on stage who were never meant to be. Suits had more than its fair share of couples, and there was one, in particular, that was never meant to see the light of a television screen. Yet Screen Rant reports that due to popular demand, one pair went from mere coworkers to one of the most anticipated couples on the show.

Harvey Specter

Played by Gabriel Macht, Harvey Specter is one of the most vicious lawyers on the show, and that’s a good thing. He wants to win, and he does what it takes to win his case. Harvey’s very name was enough to make other lawyers question if they really did have a winning case.

The fact that he hires Mike Ross as a lawyer, even though Ross got kicked out of Harvard, shows just how determined Harvey is. As long as he’s sure he won’t get caught, he’s ready to play the game. There are even times when he knows there’s no way he can get away with it, and Harvey does so anyways.

Harvey has a very distinct sense of style, and always looks well put together. He’s well known for his slicked-back hairstyle, which Gabriel Macht hated, even though it suited his character’s personality.

Donna Paulsen

Played by Sarah Gray Rafferty, Donna Paulsen begins the show as Harvey’s legal secretary. She is an incredibly intelligent woman who can hold her own with any lawyer at Pearson Hardman LLP. Other characters refer to her as ‘Mommy,’ ‘The Fax Whisper,’ and ‘the Mighty Donna.’

Donna is Harvey’s right-hand woman, and gets him out of more than one jam. In fact, many problems are resolved before they ever hit Harvey’s desk. More than one character comes to her for assistance, and Donna never turns them away.

She has been fired more than once from Pearson Hardman LLP, but Harvey always fights to get her back. Donna brings some much-needed structure to the law firm, with a side of snark to keep everyone on their toes.

Once she got tired of playing assistant, Donna requested to be named a partner even though she’s not a lawyer. Harvey had a hard time telling her no, and fights for the position, but Jessica Pearson and Lewis Litt say that she hasn’t earned it. They are willing to make her the COO of the law firm now known as Specter Litt, however.

The couple that were never meant to be

Harvey and Donna were never supposed to be more than coworkers who got into the occasional spat, but fans saw sparks there. At the beginning, it almost feels like two siblings who just happen to work together, but things slowly change.

Both characters had more than their fair share of romantic relationships, especially in the beginning. But as the series progressed, Harvey began to show signs of irritation that Donna was dating a suave British lawyer named Stephen Huntley.

It’s not until season seven that Donna finally kisses Harvey. Even though fans thought that this was a sign they would be together finally, it wasn’t meant to be. Not yet at least.

It’s not until season eight that the two finally became a couple. Harvey realized that he really did love Donna, and rushes to her home after an important trial to confess his feelings. In the series finale, the two get engaged, and walk down the aisle. For fans who have been waiting to see this for nine seasons, it was a great way to end the series.
