Florence Pugh is not one to shy away from making a statement, especially those of the fashion variety. Resolute in her penchant for sheer pink, the actress came through with a look on Sunday night at the British Independent Film Awards that harked back to her Valentino Barbiecore moment that practically broke the internet this summer.
Taking the visible lingerie trend to new extremes (i.e. skipping a bra entirely) the 26-year-old looked unreal back in July as she rocked a hot pink tulle gown in Rome for the designer's fall 2022 show.
Her most recent style moment felt distinctly similar in the way it fused a traditionally feminine colour palette with sultry see-through fabrics, only this time Florence opted for a much softer, powdery hue to accompany her at the prestigious occasion.
There has been absolutely zero letting up for the actress this year – between breakups and drama, she has been seriously up against it. However, her style game has never faltered, and her BIFAs look at London's Old Billingsgate proved just that.

Exuding ethereal drama, Florence looked radiant in a pearly pink satin slip dress by Rodarte from its Fall 2022 collection. The Los Angeles-based label, headed up by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy, excels in whimsical femininity with lace and silk-satins collectively forming a major part of its signature aesthetic. Her lingerie-inspired cami dress featured a see-through lace-trimmed neckline and thigh-split, alongside a central rosette-like detail.
But what really stopped us in our tracks was her unreal outerwear, in the form of an exquisite baby pink cape, complete with voluminous gathering. With ultra-wide tiered shoulders and a huge frothy train, the cape took centre stage and allowed Florence to serve pure 'candyfloss dream'.
Styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray, the actress topped off her look with an understated pendant and drop-down earrings by jewellery heavyweight Tiffany & Co, and gold strappy sandals by Aquazzura.
The cape was giving the viral 'rich-widow' marabou robe trend, which dominated the sartorial agenda on TikTok back in 2021. Florence looked every inch the 1930s glamorous housewife (who may or may not be responsible for her husband's untimely death) and we are here for it.
We wonder which shade is next up on Florence’s sheer pink agenda, will the privilege be afforded to peach, bubblegum, or salmon? We’ll keep you posted…
