Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs was arrested on charges of second-degree domestic violence with a burglary designation on Sunday, per Ryan Phillips of the Tuscaloosa Patch.

It is the second time he has been arrested this summer.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk cited court records that show a $5,000 bond for the latest arrest. Florio also noted Buggs was arrested the first time this summer and charged with two misdemeanors in an animal cruelty case, although his lawyer said the charges were part of a larger "subversive campaign" that was attempting to force the hookah lounge he owns to close.

ESPN reported in May that Buggs turned himself into police regarding the allegations his mistreated two dogs that were found on the back porch of a home he was renting and appeared to abandon.

The ESPN report cited court documents that said police found a gray and white pit bull and a black rottweiler that looked to be malnourished and neglected without access to food and water.

The pit bull was euthanized.

Buggs entered the NFL when the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him in 2019.

He played his first three seasons with the Steelers before joining the Detroit Lions for two seasons until the NFC North team waived him late in the 2023 campaign. Kansas City then signed him to its practice squad in January.

The Chiefs then signed him on a reserve/future contract in February.
